American to charge for first checked bag
May 21, 2008

The blogsphere lit up today with the news that American Airlines is going to start chargine $15 for the first checked bag - sort of like Ryan Air in the UK. Christopher Elliott, one of our favorite bloggers, is covering the story over on his blog for those who are interested in getting more details.

If American's decision makes your head hurt, head over to the TravelGator flight search tool and see if you can't find a good fare for your next trip on an airline that lets you pack more than a toothbrush without paying.

Stingrays Attack video on YouTube
May 14, 2008

About a year ago we posted a fun little video on YouTube of some stingrays at Stingray City in Grand Cayman and much to our surprise it recently hit over 100,000 views. Who knew?

Of course the stingrays aren't really attacking Martin in this video (they are after the squid in his hand) but there is nothing like a great title to get noticed on the net!

CheapAir.com now a search option on TravelGator
May 10, 2008

In case you missed it, we've now added CheapAir.com to the TravelGator flight search tool. This brings out flight search options to an even dozen pretty much making it impossible for you to pay too much to fly.

Happy searching.

What do to when the trip doesn't go as planned
May 7, 2008

Sometimes, despite the best planning, a vacation just doesn't go quite as well as you planned. For those situations, once you leave a review here on TravelGator of course and exhaust your options with the provider, you might end up in court.

Not that surprisingly, given that judges are travelers too, the end result is often satisfaction as Christopher Elliot shares in his travel column on MSNBC.
