Twitter hates TravelGator

June 1, 2009

The Gator finally got busy on Twitter this past week and we were having a great ol' time posting some really cool travel links and updating a bunch of new friends out there on what was going on here at the Gator. Granted we were following a lot of people who were not yet following us but that situation was slowly correcting itself and some of those folks were rather interesting.

So imagine our surprise when we went to satisfy our new Twitter addiction this morning and we had been SUSPENDED! But what about all our new friends out there? They'll be wondering where our informative 140 character musings on cool places to travel went. We were certainly getting a lot of nice messages back.

Come on Twitter, give us our account back...we want to be social at a 140 characters a shot again.

(UPDATE) In the meantime we've created a new account @travelinggator and will start rebuilding our follower list there. Apologies to everyone who is about to get a duplicate follow request.

(UPDATE) Now Twitter has us wondering whether we somehow got caught up in the "best video" exploit. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

(UPDATE) We're back! @TravelGator is now active on Twitter again. We got a form email from Twitter support...no idea what we did to get suspended but we're not going to question it. The tweets are flowing again.
