Orbitz has a summer sale
May 31, 2009

Orbitz has launched their annual summer sale and from the looks of it they are offering from 20% to 50% off a range of hotels in places like Colorado, Canada, Hawaii, Las Vegas and Mexico.

Or if beach and sand is more your thing, you can save $200 on a trip to Barbados but you have to book before June 7th.

Save bucks on British Airways
May 28, 2009

If you are planning a trip from the US to anywhere British Airlines flies and you have a trusty Visa card in your wallet then this promotion is good for $100 off a coach ticket.

These days we'll take our savings anywhere we can find them. Thanks to MaxaBlog.com for the tip.

Free Donuts in Boston
May 28, 2009

Ok, so this is not strictly a travel deal but it still pretty cool. Dunkin Donuts is getting ready for free donuts day on June 5th. Since the Gator resides (when not traveling of course) in the Boston area, this is a pretty cool development.

From Boston.com:

"For folks unacquainted with the movable feasts of the culinary calendar, National Doughnut Day falls on June 5 this year, and on that blessed day, Dunkin' Donuts, the Canton-based coffee-and-baked-goods chain, said that participating stores nationwide "will give every customer a free donut of their choice, with the purchase of any beverage, limit one per customer." "

Yum....

Free hotel nights on Expedia
May 27, 2009

Those of us here at the Gator are feeling a bit light in the pocket book these days but we still love to travel. So we absolutely love it when one of our partners comes up with a "you can't miss this" deal.

Expedia is offering you your last night free when you stay at over 1,300 hotels. It is pretty simple to take advantage of this one. Simply stay 3, 4 or 5 nights at one of their qualifying hotels, book by May 31st (that is pretty soon guys and gals) and travel through June 15th.

So this is the weekend to get away. Call in sick on Monday...just get out there and travel a bit. After all, the work will still be there when you get back.

Get 20% off at Marriott Hotels
May 27, 2009

We've stayed at Marriott Hotels all over the world and they rarely disappoint - especially in some of the most beautiful cities in the world. When spring finally takes and the weather warms up, one of our favorite places to visit is the city by the lake - Chicago.

And of course there is a wonderful Marriott Hotel right on the Magnificent Mile.

The best part? Now you can save 20% when you book with Expedia.

Miami in the Sun
May 13, 2009

We recently did the business offsite thing in Miami, Florida and it has been a few years since our last visit. The city continues to charm pretty much anyone who visits. Although its hedonistic lifestyle definitely beckons, the life of Tubbs and Crockett are only a small part of what Miami has to offer.

Visit the Miami Art Museum or the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden. There is a wide range of things to do in Miami.

Even better, Hotels.com will set you up with a deal on a place to stay and save you big bucks if you travel now.

One of our favorite hotels is the Beacon Hotel in the heart of South Beach. Hang on the beach all day and then treat yourself to some decadence at night. Have a good trip!

A great time for a jaunt to Vancouver
May 12, 2009

http://www.travelgator.com/do/cityDesc?cityId=334224-Vancouver-British-Columbia-Canada in Canada is definitely one of the Gator's favorite cities. It has everything - beachs, a great downtown, cool restaurants and the mountains right next door. Heaven on Earth. We have fond memories of eating steaming hot bagels on the huge logs washed up on Kits Beach.

And right now you can save a buch of money with deals for Vancouver hotels on Hotels.com. One of our favorites is the Fairmount Waterfront right next door to the convention center and Gastown.
