Divers Alert Network (DAN)

Founded in 1980, Divers Alert Network (DAN) exists to provide expert information and advice for the benefit of the diving public. DAN is a medical and research organization dedicated to the safety and health of recreational scuba divers and is associated with Duke University Medical Center. DAN provides emergency medical advice and assistance for underwater diving injuries; works to prevent injuries and to promote diving safety; promotes and supports underwater diving research and education; and strives to provide the most accurate, up-to-date and unbiased information on issues of common concern to the diving public.
Earthwatch

Earthwatch Institute is an international organization that supports scientific field research by offering members of the public unique opportunities to work alongside leading field scientists and researchers. Earthwatch works to engage people worldwide in scientific field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. We believe that decision-making involving these issues not only requires objective scientific data from the field, but must engage the general public through active participation in the scientific process if it is to become widely accepted and effective. We have a commitment to education offering 300 expedition fellowships to teachers and students every year.
Friends of Animals (FoA), founded in 1957, works to cultivate a respectful view of nonhuman animals, free-living and domestic. Our goal is to free animals from cruelty and institutionalized exploitation around the globe. FoA has facilitated over two million procedures through a unique nationwide spay/neuter program, and our record of protecting free-living animals spans more than four decades. Today, we are one of the most respected activist groups in the nation and around the world.
Greenpeace Fund is an organization that focuses on research and education on environmental issues. Greenpeace Fund identifies, researches and monitors issues of importance and develops and implements programs affecting marine mammals, other endangered species, and the environment generally. The Fund increases public awareness and understanding of environmental issues through the media and other educational programs. To those ends, Greenpeace Fund makes grants to Greenpeace, Inc.
The Sierra Club Foundation is a public charity who works to provide financial support to the Sierra Club and other environmental organizations for tax deductible work. We fund a range of environmental projects which fall into the three general categories of public education, litigation, and training. Since 1960, The Sierra Club Foundation has funded tens of millions of dollars worth of important work, from small local projects costing a couple of hundred dollars, to large, multi-year campaigns which require millions of dollars to support. Our work reflects the core values of people everywhere. That we all have a right to a safe and healthy environment, clean air, clean water, open space, wild lands and a healthy and diverse ecosystem.
World Wildlife Fund

Known worldwide by its panda logo, World Wildlife Fund (WWF) leads international efforts to protect endangered species and their habitats. Now in its fifth decade, WWF works in more than 100 countries around the globe to conserve the diversity of life on earth. With nearly 1.2 million members in the U.S. and another four million worldwide, WWF is the world's largest privately financed conservation organization. WWF directs its conservation efforts toward three global goals: saving endangered species, protecting endangered habitats and addressing global threats such as toxic pollution, over-fishing and climate change.
